Guest Posting can be a great search engine optimization tool

Guest posting or guest blogging is the act of creating a connection with another blog publisher or writer, throwing a subject to them that you have a knowledge in or have a passion for that their viewers are going to really enjoy reading, writing the article and then submitting it to the blog publisher to publish it. Basically you appear as a guest on what is otherwise “their show”.

Submitting a guest post gives you the benefit of earning a link (great for search engine ranking positions) and participating with a new audience (leading to increased traffic).

Guest Posting Is Beneficial For Both The Guest Host And The Webmaster:

One of the most important things about guest posting is that it is beneficial to both the blog publisher and the guest poster because the audience gets some great content and a dose of your knowledge or expertise and the blog publisher gets “a day off” from the task of generating content.

It is a very important internet promotion strategy and although not new, it has improved in significance as it is a future-proof way to create backlinks to your website or blog. If you create posts for the right types of sites in your market or niche you will be generating high-authority and quality backlinks which google will appreciate and compensate you for.

These types of backlinks will often endure updates (like Penguin and Panda) since the backlinks are the high-quality, appropriate and beneficial type that google looks for. Furthermore, these types of backlinks are likely to generate targeted visitors who may well turn into leads and revenue.

Smaller websites and blogs are generally much faster and more likely to post your guest post which means that you can often focus on and post to more of them in a shorter period of time to help increase your search engine ranking positions. The traffic potential from these types of sites is of course lower though because their visitors are typically lower.

Larger websites and blogs seem take much longer to publish and can be much more restrictive in terms of the content that you can submit, but the benefit is that the larger site may deliver more traffic back to your website or blog.

Don`t assume bigger is always better, some smaller niche sites can drive high quality traffic back to your site if they are relevant to your subject and niche.

  1. Great points you brought out in the article, showing that guest authors can "earn a link," but also a potential new audience. Now, they only need to think about providing valuable content and writing well. :)
